Homeland Security officer shoots, kills suspect in Northridge, Los Angeles police say

Police are investigating after they say a Homeland Security officer shot and killed a person in Northridge.

The deadly shooting happened at an apartment complex on Roscoe Boulevard around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Details were limited, but police said the suspect had an assault-style weapon. It's unclear if the officer who opened fire was hurt.

Eyewitness News reached out to the Department of Homeland Security for comment, but has not heard back.
